Sony just rolled out the FDR-X3000 action camera and it may convince you to give up your GoPro. The cam will hit the stores at the end of the month. Coming in at $400, it’s well worth the money. Let’s look at what it has to offer.
The FDR-X3000 is all “-proof”: waterproof, splashproof, freezeproof, shockproof, and dustproof. So you can pretty much go as crazy as you want without having to worry about destroying your camera.
Sony’s new action camera comes with image stabilization, zooming, and adjustable FOV. Users can record full 4K videos, now with less shake. The device packs the Optical SteadyShot technology to prevent blurry image and provide crisp, sharp images.
With the 4K Time-lapse Capture, users can shoot stills over a particular period of time. Thrill seekers can then create a 4K time-lapse video with the Action Cam Movie Creator6. With the Action Cam App7, Full HD time-lapse videos are also possible.
It features a rugged shielding to allow users to take it out in any real-life conditions. The Underwater Housing is waterproof to 197 feet. As long as you don’t dive in too deep, you will be able to take stunning images of the underwater world.
The 7.20mm Exmor R CMOS sensor it holds under the hood enables night shots and video, while the BIONZ X image processor is responsible for the crystal clear 4K imagery. The camera features a f/2.8 aperture.
