The Chromebook R 13 is Asus’s latest hit. Some say it may just be the best Chromebook that has ever been made. And Android lovers will also be pleased to hear that the new notebook is Android-friendly. The new Chromebook can function both as a laptop and as a tablet. But just you wait – there’s more.

Acer’s Chromebook R 13 – The Best Chromebook so Far?
Chromebook R 13 will hit the market in October.

The device features Chrome operating system, but Google managed to make it run Android apps seamlessly. Users can run apps from Google’s digital distribution store, Google Play, on the latest Chromebook models.

Chromebook R 13 Specs:

  • 13-inch screen.
  • MediaTek M8173C Core Pilot quad-core processor.
  • 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM.
  • Full HD 1920×1080 resolution.
  • LED-backlit LCD.
  • 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of storage.
  • USB-C and USB 3.0 port.
  • Bluetooth 4.0.

The 2-in-1 Chromebook has a 13-inch screen that you can rotate to give it a double functionality. The 360-degree hinge allows users to use the device in four different modes. This makes it a great notebook for either work or recreational activities such as game playing.

Another great thing about the new Chromebook is that its fan-less design keeps it silent and dust-free. And apart from being silent, it’s also discreet. Coming in at just 15.5mm, Acer’s Chromebook R 13 is thin and light. It is the ideal device to take with you on journeys.

The laptop also allows for great productivity. Boasting a 12-hours battery life, users who want to take it outside can leave the charging cable at home. Chromebook R 13 can run for hours without needing charging. And once you get home, you might notice that there’s still some battery juice flowing to keep it going.

It packs a USB-C port for data transfer and charging, but also features a regular USB 3.0 port. Its M8173C Core Pilot quad-core processor is the first processor from MediaTek to be packed in a Chromebook.

The laptop will be available in North America starting October at a starting price of $399. The new Chromebook will also be shipped to Europe, Middle East, and Africa, starting at €399. It seems that Chromebooks are not that fancied in Asian countries, where customers prefer Windows OS.
