Canon EOS 5D Mark IV – The Legacy Lives On

Canon has rolled out the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV on August 25, putting an end to a long wait. The imaging and optical products manufacturer introduced the camera as being specially developed for professionals doing wedding, portrait, and wildlife photography. On the outside, it looks pretty much like its predecessors, while under the hood, it sees major enhancements. The 30.4-megapixel CMOS sensor ensures high-quality, crystal clear images.

Videographers will also have a lot to gain thanks to the DIGIC 6+ Image Processor that allows for 4K video and up to 7fps continuous shooting. The camera also packs Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology that ensures sharp focus.

This is the first 5D series camera to offer 4K video recording and built-in NFC and Wi-Fi connectivity. The company states that the new developments are the result of listening to the customer’s feedback. Canon pushes for a more modern, versatile camera that can create both stunning still images and video imagery.

“Canon’s EOS 5D series of DSLR cameras has a history of being at the forefront of still and video innovation. And today, we add to this family of cameras the EOS 5D Mark IV– the first in our 5D series to offer 4K video and built-in Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, President and COO of Canon U.S.A., Inc.
