Gamers queue up in London for Xbox One’s Midnight launch


Thousands of Fans who were eager to get their hands on the Xbox One queued outside a pop-up GAME store in London’s’  Trocadero despite the cold weather. The same situation followed up in about 500 stores across the country.

Leicester Square was literally filled up with zombies from Dead Rising 3 along with the Roman legions from Ryse: Son of Rome. Fans of FIFA 2014 has a chance to compete with Andros Town, a premiership footballer and a McLaren supercar from Forza Motorsport 5 drove through the crowds.

British game developers had a chance to showcase their new game titles in the midst of outdoor performances by Plan B and Katy B.

The Xbox One is powered by a 1.75GHz 8-core processor, 8GB of RAM and an amazing 1.32 Teraflops processing power. Voice commands and motion sensors allows users to be recognized by the consoles and an improved Kinect provides shifting through games, Live TV and Skype.

Apart from a wide choice of new popular game titles like Forza Motorsport 5, Dead Rising 3, the Xbox One also includes music apps, TV, Amazon’s Lovefilm, TED, Muzu TV and many more.

“With the strongest line-up of games we’ve ever seen for a new console, pre-orders from fans across the UK are at unprecedented levels,” said Phil Harrison, Corporate VP of Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft EMEA.

Sony’s PlayStation 4 is also slated for its release in a week, the competitor of  Xbox One in the console market. PS4 in the UK would be priced about £349 after its release on November 29.
