Dropbox has released its new version 3.0 iOS 7-friendly app for Apple iPhones and iPads, although they are late entry to the new iOS 7 platform update frenzy.
The refreshed Dropbox v 3.0 update brings not only the iOS 7 looks and feel but also comes with AirDrop, a new feature introduced during the release of the new mobile OS to share links and whole files easily to nearby friends. Regarding the AirDrop, Apple officially said:
“AirDrop transfers are peer-to-peer so you can use it anywhere, without any network or set up required, and transfers are fully encrypted so your content is protected and private.”
However, you can also save videos to iPhone library or send files to other installed applications, additionally, even iPad users can quickly open the files in a full screen.
DropBox said in the blog post:
“The new Dropbox app is a bit like a new beginning for Dropbox on iOS. While many things will feel familiar, we hope you’ll notice the small tweaks that make a pretty big difference. And maybe best of all, it sets the stage for some exciting things to come.”
We’re not quite sure that you have Dropbox as your cloud storage, but if you are in there, then go to the App Store and download or update the app right now.[source: Dropbox Blog]
