Moto X for Verizon Wireless will be the first device is US to get the Android 4.4. KitKat firmware update starting today, officially announced by the Motorola.

The mobile division of Google, Motorola earlier revealed the KitKat updating plan for its devices and it seems its begun to fulfill it starting wit the Big Red version of Moto X.
It’s also reported that the firm will be bringing the android firmware update without any toppings, instead the Moto X will be having the same new and cleaner UI of Google Nexus 5.
Regarding the new features of Android 4.4 KitKat, there will be improved phone dialer to make search contacts easier than before. New gallery effects are added like Highlights, Edges and Posterize along with the freehand “Draw” feature to annotate photos within gallery. Google has given a space for its Hangout (former Google Talk) app, which enables messaging, video/voice calls, animated gifs (instead of stickers) etc.
Android 4.4 KitKat for Moto X also brings in unique features such as color Emoji within the similar to Swype and SwiftKey, new Google Keyboard. New drag feature has been introduced in camera app, which will let the users to set the focus point and exposure by dragging the finger in screen. Status and navigation bars will come with a new refreshed style along with the full-screen mode. Even Motorola’s Touchless Control has been enhanced in the update.

I just updated to android 4.4 and my Moto X overheated during the charge. It had an otterbox case and a pillow had fallen on top of it. Looking to see if anyone had a similar problem.
Your solution might be right in your question – that pillow over the phone caused the overheating. You should try again without the pillow 🙂
