Even though Ouya had a brilliant launch from Kickstarter, numerous obstacles like delays, failures in shipment and low end games were hindering its growth. The Ouya is still in development as the controller is not sturdy, an imprecise trackpad and the buttons and analogs are not so smooth.
The low priced $99 Android-based micro console delivers the features for its price. Like smartphone companies, Ouya would also release a new console every year.
Today, a new limited edition white colored Ouya with a white colored controller priced at $129.99 was announced by the company. Though storage was increased from 8GB to 16GB, Ouya’s specifications was a caused disappointment. It features the same specs in the earlier model, NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
White Ouya is not yet popular the console is catching up with consumers. The new consoles are expected to be redesigned to offer tighter controls and the user interface would also get upgraded through a new firmware update that would be released this month. The option to use an external USB storage is under development.
For the extra storage and new color there an increase of $30 and a limited choice of games. With the release of PS4 and Xbox One which releases this Friday the Ouya would get no place in the market competition. Consumers would opt for a $99 Wii Mini for $99 which offers better gaming experience and a huge choice in games instead of Ouya.
OUYA would be launched on December 8 and the company will ship it by December 25.[Source]
