In its official forum, co-founder of OnePlus Carl Pei has apologized for the delay in sales of the recently launched OnePlus 2 “flagship killer” smartphones and announced that the company is looking for a feasible time to sell these phones without OnePlus 2 invite for an hour later this month or early-October.
Despite having amazing hardware with value for money features and huge demands (in millions), OnePlus have not managed to keep the sales flow stable. They faced the worst situation during the launch of OnePlus One due to the inappropriate production numbers.
When they announced OnePlus Two in July 2015, they have promised the fans that they would get the invites 30 to 50 times easier. But according to Carl, they have failed and apologized for buyers, partners and even its employees.
In his open letter, Carl Pei said:
“To our fans, sorry. We were equally excited when we saw your excitement around the OnePlus 2. We know how it feels waiting and waiting for something you really want, while being given ETAs that go unfulfilled. We appreciate the trust and support that you have given to a relatively small and unknown company like OnePlus… Over the past few days, we’ve been discussing how we can make it up to our fans for the delay. One of the best ideas we have is to open sales up for an hour sometime later this month or early next, to make the entire process a bit more painless for would-be OnePlus 2 users.”
In order to get the OnePlus 2 invites, buyer should get it from his/her friend who already purchased a OnePlus 2 smartphone, else they would have to participate in the company’s promotion and marketing contests. Even third parties also gave away OnePlus 2 invites using contests. Moreover, we could see people selling the invites on Facebook groups, eBay and other forums for the price tag ranging from $20-$50.
The device with high-end specifications that of a $600 phone available for just $389 (64GB version), which has created a craze amongst the Android phone buyers. In his letter, OnePlus cofounder also mentioned that they have given a month to the competing products to catch up with the market during the slow sales process of OnePlus Two.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, octa-core CPU, Adreno 430 GPU, 4GB RAM, 4G LTE support, 3,300mAh battery, 13MP OIS camera with dual LED flash, 5MP front camera and OxygenOS are the important specifications of the smartphone.
