Telstra has unveiled its first ever LTE-Advanced connection, the Telstra 4G advanced hotspots in Australia today.
Telstra promises “all-day endurance” in their rechargeable device and offers connectivity up to 10 devices. The device features a touchscreen which provides data usage information, Wi-Fi name and strength and the number of devices connected along with battery level.
Wi-Fi range and band can be altered and Telstra claims that the device would last 10 hours of continuous use or standby of 250 days. Apart from from LTE-A, Category four LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, 3G dual channel are also supported.
“The Telstra Wi-Fi 4G Advanced features a number of innovations including a color touch screen for managing settings without having to log into PC browser, a data meter integrated with our billing system making it simpler to monitor data usage, and a battery that can get customers through a full work day, plus the commute,” said Andrew Volard, director of devices at Telstra.
The 4G technology uses a combination of 900MHz and 1800MHz spectrum bands thus providing better capacity for the network.
According to Telco, the Telstra Wi-Fi 4G Advanced Hotspot will have plans in the range of 24-month plans. The device will be made available from November 12th, with plans starting from $50 mobile broadband plan offering 8 GB data limit and $6 monthly device repayments.
