Recently, we have heard Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) has teamed up with other less known, as well as a few moderately known companies and the same is going to happen in the automobile field. It is reported that automobile giant Tesla has joined its hands with Airbnb.

The automobile giant has partnered with Airbnb Inc, a rent lodging  company to avail a  unique place for the customers to charge their premium electric cars, and also they can stay in the place when the charging occurs. Hereafter, Airbnb homes come with a charging station for the Tesla electric car and users can charge their cars for free. To start up according to the plan, the companies have selected California coast as a primary location for 30 charging stations, and if it goes well, they might expand their regions as well.

According to an officer of Airbnb, by joining hands with Tesla they will try to build up a world without any limits of travelling far.

Airbnb blog mentioned that from the remote deserts to lush forests, every place can be visited now through own car, as the two companies are now working together to unlock back roads and highways. Every Airbnb homeowner can apply for a Tesla charger and Tesla will be covering the cost of charging. However, the home owner has to pay the installation costs of the charger.

The company said in a statement:

“We’re giving Tesla owners more destinations on the open road. Airbnb and Tesla are bringing charging stations to select homes across the globe, starting with the California coast. Together, we’re building a world with no limits to how far you can travel and how you get there” “From remote deserts to lush forests, we’re unlocking highways, backroads, adventures and unique homes.”

Airbnb was poked by the people of electric vehicle community, by ways which it can enhance the consumer experience, but it responded quite quickly by making a partnership with Tesla. Moreover, this poking thing was on only for about 7 to 10 days ago, so it can be said that it is not only the community which inspired Airbnb, but it had made up some business expanding plans well before by itself.

But the main thing is that – what is the partnership about because if two companies of same genre made a partnership then it is an acceptable fact. But, how can a home building company join hands with an automobile company as a partner and that also with an as efficient company as Tesla?.

To get this facility from the two companies all together at this moment, you have to first contact Airbnb to check out whether you are eligible for the Tesla charger or not. And if you already have a Tesla charger installed in your home and then, Airbnb will add you to its list of Tesla ready properties.

In future, the current act might be a stepping stone for both the companies, since it is literally the first step of Airbnb is going to be improving the traveling experience for electric car owners. The community, which poked Airbnb by suggesting consumer experience enhancing ways, responded to this step of Airbnb by suggesting it to include a little symbol in the Amenities section for EV charging capability.
