Nuance, a known name in imaging and speech technologies, has just announced a new voice dictation app called Dragon Anywhere for mobile devices. The new app by Nuance will be released this fall on both Android and iOS.
The forthcoming app is mostly targeted at enterprise users who need accurate as well as responsive transcription on the move. The company has asserted that the Dragon anywhere app will be useful for lawyers, social workers, field workers, insurance adjusters, public safety officers, and other professionals who carry most of their work-related activities away from a desk.
“For years, professionals across industries have relied on Dragon on their PCs and Macs for completing the documentation and paperwork requirements that are critical to their businesses and we are excited to extend that experience to mobile devices with Dragon Anywhere,” Nuance’s Mahoney said in a statement.
The app will allow users to create documents and fill out forms. Using only voice commands, users can navigate through a document and edit transcribed texts. The idea is to make the whole experience hands free. Users can also chose to save their work on Dropbox or Evernote. The data can also be saved on the company’s own cloud-based sync platform. It also supports adding custom words. The app will save data and sync it to other connected clients which can be a Mac or a Windows device.
“By leveraging the cloud, Dragon Anywhere provides sophisticated dictation, editing and formatting capabilities not offered by any other mobile voice dictation application, ensuring that professionals can stay productive wherever their work them” said Peter Mahoney, Senior VP of Dragon.
