Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 was offered free to those owning Windows 8, thought the update included a small issue which makes the mouse to pause before the Windows Store is clicked.
Microsoft confirmed that most of the users who complained about problems while using mouse were gamers who noticed a lag while gaming including quirks from some users. Microsoft acknowledged the problem and also said that it was actively investigating the issues and working on a patch.
“First off, we want to thank our gaming community for the detailed feedback many of you have provided on these issues. While we don’t have a date yet for the release of a fix, we are working to get these issues resolved as quickly as possible,” said a Microsoft Forum Moderator in the company’s community forum.
Microsoft said it was working to fix three issues like mouse jittering during the course of the game, uneven mouse movement even after the game is turned off and a lower reporting frequency in measured mouse polling rate. However Microsoft has found the casue for the jitter issue, which “occurs in some games because Windows 8.1 handles the game’s checks for the mouse status different.”
Microsoft has suggested disabling DPI scaling by right-clicking on the game’s icon, in case the mouse does not reach all parts of the game while using Windows 8.1.
