Microsoft unveils Skype for Business service preview in Office 365

It would be good news for those, who use Skype video calling app for their business use. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) unveils that it will add “Skype for Business” to Office 365. This move from the company will make messaging as well as calling application more efficient to others. Also, Microsoft has already integrated PowerShell for Office 365.skype-business-app

According to Office Blogs, Skype for Business will offer new voice and meeting capabilities, by integrating it with Office 365, Skype for Business will enhance the previous version of the application. Last year, Microsoft has rebranded Lync Corporate Communications platform into “Skype for Business”. The same, helps the enterprises and also its business by creating large-scale meetings, also better usage of meeting capabilities.

Skype for Business’s customers can register for following previews with the help of Office 365 enterprise edition.

Skype Meeting Broadcast

In the Skype for Business service, meeting broadcast is mainly designed for organizing larger meetings through the internet. The latest version of Skype for Business in Office 365, allows around 10,000 participants to connect to a meeting, and meeting organizer can broadcast their video feed to all of them without any hassles. The meeting organizer / speaker can even able to respond to the participant feedback in real times very easily.

Even without installing any plugins, the user can watch the video feed directly in the browser. Previously, only 250 participants can attend the meeting, now the limit has been extended to around 10000.

PSTN Conferencing: This feature in the Skype for Business allows the user to directly call to another user who is using Skype for Business, using a traditional telephone. In the meanwhile, the vice versa can be easily done, i.e., users who attend the meeting can able to dial to normal telephone too.

Cloud PBX with PSTN Calling

This feature will allow Skype for Business users to make phone calls to traditional phone calls inside the application. Using this application, the user can able to hold, forward and transfer the calls directly from the application. Currently, the feature is only applicable to the U.S users.

Microsoft has also added PoweShell for Office 365, the same will bring out a command line environment for the system administrators, who want to manage other devices that are not present in Office 365 Admin panel. In addition to that, Microsoft offers an additional library that contains scripts, which makes administrators to work faster.
