‘Tipsy Tow’ services provided to impaired drivers by AAA Arizona


For keeping the roads safe this weekend, drivers are being offered  a ‘Tipsy Tow’ service by AAA Arizona. The service was started on July 4, Saturday 6P.M and would go on till July 5, Sunday, till 6 a.m.arizona-tipsy-tow

When it comes to the safety of drivers, AAA Arizona is the leader and wishes to keep everyone quite safe this independence day. It has plans of promoting the safe ride home and anyone across the state can call for this ride. There is no need of having to be a member for using this service.

What has to be done?

-Firstly, call 1-800-222-4357 between July 4, 6p.m. to July 5, 6a.m.

– Tell them you need a ‘Tipsy Tow’

-Provide the name of the driver, driver location, vehicle location, phone number and home address

10 mile tow and ride home is provided by Tipsy Tow for free. For distance beyond this, standard towing rates have to be paid by the motorists. This service isn’t inclusive of roadside assistance. In the year 2014, there were around 28,000 DUI arrests in the state of Arizona as per the Governor’s Office for Highway Safety.

It has been estimated by AAA that during first time DUI conviction, over $10,000 has to be paid by motorist as fines, legal fees, penalties as well as increased insurance costs. AAA’s Tipsy Tow is a good way of giving back to the community. This program was started in the year 2009 and since then, around thousands of impaired drivers have been kept off the roadways every year.
