Is Nokia aiming to keep their heads up or struggling to make impact, either way Chinese markets will get the company’s Lumia 1020, a 41MP smartphone-for-photography with good features for dropped price – from $1000 to $615 (in China, CNY 5,999 to CNY 3,999.
Previously, Nokia released the Lumia 1020 in China with the insane price of 5,999 Yuan and the 35 percent of price cut after 2 months of the release suggests that the company is eager to clear the stock or it want to spread more wings before the buyout from Microsoft completes. Prior to this, Nokia had already adjusted the price to 4,999 Yuan in China in last month. Whatever, if you are a hardcore photographer and want to use the smartphone for the photography as well as day to day mobile use, then you should consider buying the device because the price seems reasonable.
The company first launched the smartphone in US on AT&T in July 2013 and released in other global markets after 1-2 months. In US, the Lumia 1020 price is already dropped to $99 from $199 this week. When launched, the price was $299 and last month it cut the price to $199. The US price also boasts of a 2 years contract with the carrier, i.e., AT&T.
In Europe, Lumia 1020 is launched in September as unlocked SIM-free device and the price is still high at over €600 (approximately $970+). In India the price is at around INR Rs. 45,000, equivalent to $740. The company might, probably cut the prices of its smartphones in coming week for all global markets, so it is better to wait for 1-2 weeks. However, Nokia Lumia 1520 is just few days away from its launch date.
