Nintendo on Sunday announced that Street Fighter’s Ryu has joined Super Smash Bros, and Fire Emblem’s Roy will be returning to the game on Wii U and 3DS. Players can also buy new items from eShop, including three fighters, new stages and Mii fighter costumes, based on popular action games.
Street Fighter’s iconic Ryu come to the game with all of his moves like helicopter kick, fireball and dragon punch. Each attack will be heavy or light depending on the press of the button. Special attacks can be used, though SF inputs, giving players more power. Ryu will cost $5.99 on 3DS and $6.99 on Wii U. He also comes with a new Suzaku Castle stage.
“Today’s update proves that the evergreen Super Smash Bros. games continue to evolve and grow with unexpected new content,” said Scott Moffitt, executive VP of sales and marketing, Nintendo of America.
Fire Emblem’s fifth character Roy returns to the roster, and Mother 3 hero Lucas is also joining the game. Both are priced at $3.99 for 3DS, and $4.99 for adding the characters on handheld and Wii U. Some of the new Mii costumes from various games include Jacky or Akira from Virtua Fighter, Heihachi from Tekken, the Squidlings and Inkling fr om Splatoon, Megman.EXE or Zero and Isabelle from Animal Crossing. They are priced at 75c each on 3DS or you can get them all at $6.
The Dream Land stage from the Nintendo 64 version of Smash Bros is available for $1.99 on 3DS and $2.99 on 3DS and Wii U. For the entire set of new additions, players will have to shell out $21.96 for 3DS and $29.16 for both the devices. Brand new Amiibo like Falco, Mr. Game and watch (multiple poses), Duck Hunt, Mii Fighter and Rob (Famicom design in Japan) will be coming out in September. Nintendo has promised to release Lucas, Ryu, Mewtwo, and Roy Amiibos in the future.
