At the Computex press event today, ASUS launched a range of tables, smartphones, a smartwatch and all-in-one PCs. ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih said that the devices are a compelling “balance of power and beauty, and perfectly embody our search of incredible vision.”
A range of premium tablets will come in three sizes: the 10-inch ZenPad 10.1 (Z300C/CG/CL) with an optional keyboard, the 8-inch ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580C/CA) and ZenPad 8.0 (Z380C/KL) and the 7-inch ZenPad (Z370C/CG/CL). Wifi and 3G variants will be available, and the tablets include ASUS TruVivid screens with ASUS Tu2Life color for entertainment capabilities. The tablets will be the first to feature DTS Premium Sound technology with a built-in DTS-HD codec.
The tablets features embossed leather design, ergonomic round edges in its polished metal frame. Interchangeable back covers can be used to expand its functionality like the ‘Audio Cover’ for 5.1-channel surround sound, and a ‘power cover’ for extending battery life by 15 hours.
Aimed at selfie enthusiasts, the smartphone feature a 13MP camera on the front and back. ASUS promises the best selfies with realistic skin tones as it is equipped with a dual-tone, dual-LED flash. The selfie panorama mode will offer 140-degree FOV from the 88-degree FOV f2.2 lens. The selfie can then be processed in the ZenUI Beautification mode for live cosmetics. The rear camera features laser auto-focus technology with f/2.0 aperture lens.
The smartphone is powered by 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display and Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Zen AiO series:
ASUS has also brought a range of AiO series under the Zen brand, which are said to offer the perfect balance of beauty and performance for the ultimate home-computing experience. Currently, they will be available in 23.8-inch (Zen AiO Z240IC) and 21.5-inch (Zen AiO Z220IC) screen sizes. They feature a unibody anodized-aliminium construction, tapering down to 6mm at the edges. The design is further enhanced with a concentric Zen back and a matching stand.
Buyers can choose from the latest generation Intel processors including Core i7 chips. A dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M graphics up to 4GB of RAM, DDR4 memory up to 32GB, and up to PCIe 3×4 SSD storage are available base don user requirements. The AiO series feature USB 3.1 gen 2 that allows file transfers up to 10 Gigabyte per second, and includes reversible USB 3.1 Type-C connectors.
ZenWatch 2 is an upgrade from its first wearable, and features a refined design, improved user experience and new features. Andrid Wear powers the smartwatch, and has been crafted with high-quality materials. The ZenWatch 2 will be available in two sizes: three stainless steel crown colors with 18 strap and material color combinations. Straps will be available in leather, rubber rand metal options. The smartwatch is IP67 water-resistant and includes Gorilla Glass 3 for scratch resistance.
