Nintendo Wii U users can try out Splatoon this weekend


Nintendo on Thursday, unveiled more details about the multi-player shooter-game ‘Splatoon.’ Nintendo is offering free game sessions to Wii U users this weekend by downloading the demo from the Wii U store.B66ERbY

Splatoon features a family-friendly gameplay that combines creative ink-spraying and tactical-turf claiming action. The gameplay is suitable for players of different ages with varying skill sets. Players take he role of customizable characters called inklings that can transform into squids. Each level can be cleared by splatting opponents with ink, and can transform into squids for swimming through the ink or to hide from enemies.

The Global Testfire demo, will be available to download from the Nintendo Wii U eShop from till the weekend. Players can try out live sessions in a series of 1-hour slots on Saturday and Sunday. Players from Nintendo Squid Research Lab will join the 4-on-4 turf battles with players all around the world. Users who download the demo will also receive a 10 percent discount coupon for the game, which releases on May 29.

Players can use the 4-on-4 online mode when the game releases, and will offer two stages that will be refreshed every four hours. Then, an official announcement will notify users about the changes in-game, and players will have to consider the strategy and weapons carefully. Splatfests includes themed one-off matches that allows teams of players to battle it out.

Splatoon will bring in 20 bonus levels when Amiibos are used. The five – Urchin Underpass, SaltSpray Rig, Walleye Warehouse, Blackbelly Skatepark and Arowana Mall are available at launch, and new stages will be added every few weeks. In August, Nintendo will release a major update that will bring in a functionality for players to form a team of four, along with the ability to create 8-players matches with friends.
