After looking at the Public Software industry earnings report of last four quarters, Oracle declared itself as the second biggest software company in the world, after Microsoft and IBM, which is in 1st and 3rd place respectively.
In last four quarters Oracle reported the software revenue totaling $27.8 billion, whereas IBM reported $25.7 billion. After citing the IBM’s quarterly result, Oracle said to the media that their company is moved up overtaking IBM as the number 2 company in software industry.
“Over IBM’s last four quarters, they reported software revenue totaling $25.7 billion, while during Oracle’s last four quarters, we reported software revenue totaling $27.8 billion.”
Apart from these 2 companies, the number one software giant Microsoft grossed a $61 billion earnings in the June 30 ending fiscal year totally from its consumer and software products, but its still in 41st place in Forbes Global 2000 companies list.
