There might be a launch of new iPad Mini 2 by Apple on October 22 (just 4 days left!) in their San Francisco event, but before it lands, it has got a competitor product launched by Amazon in the form of Kindle Fire HDX tablets. But as a true fact, Google’s next generation Nexus 7 2013 model with best in class features is the real competitor for Amazon’s device.

Real Amazon fans will be heading to buy the HDX 7-inch FireOS (Android’s blended OS by the company) based tablet as their best choice in 7-inch segment. However, the company wasn’t even managed to hold a stable grip on the tablet market as Apple and Google did with their tablets and now there are many players with good tablets trying to establish in the tablet market, which could be a hurdle for the company too.

The good specs sheet of HDX tablets and the trusted company could make some difference and the price factor can lead it to the next level as 16GB WiFi variant of HDX is available for just $229, whereas 32GB & 64GB variants are priced at $269 and $309 respectively. And regarding the specs, the company stepped up attractively by making it wider than Google Nexus 7 and narrower than current Apple iPad Mini. Although the IPS LCD display of the tablet is clean and clear but can it take on the crispier Retina Display of iPad Mini 2 if it released? Although the HDX tablet’s audio works fine with the headphones, the dual stereo speakers placed on the top of rear panel will not offer any bass, almost null. The processing speed of the device will be faster as it is powered by a 2.26GHz, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Pro 800 quad-core processor.

Regarding the software of Kindle Fire HDX, it runs on a completely different forked version of Android 4.2.2 – FireOS 3.0 codenamed as “Mojito” with new kind of UI. FireOS 3.0 is compatible with almost of Android apps but you will not be able to download apps from Google Play store, but you need to download it from Amazon appstore for Android. If you are really waiting for the device, then head over to amazon and buy it now.
