Samsung manufactures one of the best devices on the market but when it comes to updating to new versions of Android, Samsung does not work as the quickest OEM on board. However, the situation has become better over time with the introduction of Lollipop.
Samsung has only been able to introduce 5.1 android update to its tablet range. Samsung is relatively slower to bring out Android updates to its tablets. However, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is the most recent tablet to have received an Android 5.0.2 update. It has successfully moved on from Kitkat to Android 5.0.2.
With Samsung devices, it’s always a case that the aesthetics of the device don’t change that much whenever there is an android update. TouchWiz makes sure it hides most of the Material design improvements brought by Lollipop. There are literally no visible changes being brought out to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4.
The multi-tasking menu can still be found by the user. The notifications will be improved and the overall speed and performance of the tablet will increase phenomenally, thanks to the Android 5.0.2 update. It works at a higher speed than KitKat update. However, Lollipop also has shortcomings and bugs that are brought to the tablet with the update.
OTA is on the lookout to release it for a few selected places, but it may take a longer time for it to be available for everyone. Samsung Kies is another option of looking for the update if you can’t wait long for its release.
