Leaked images of 12-inch Apple iPad Pro cases reveals the design, and addition of dual ports and speakers. The new images showcasing the significant upgrades from its predecessors, has been leaked by French website Nowhereelse.fr, last week.
The unreleased tablet will carry a similar design of iPad Air, with stereo speakers on the top and bottom. Apple is following a similar design used in Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note for improved sound quality. The dual-speakers are a significant upgrade from iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, both of which feature a single lightning port and mono speaker at the bottom of the case.
The leaked iPad Pro cases reveal that two ports will be included, one on the bottom, and another on the left edge. Apple has employed Lighting ports in latest iOS devices like iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad series. However, Apple might also include USB Type-C port in the latest tablet. The iPad Pro could either feature two lightning ports, two USB-C ports or one of each.
The USB-C type port can be used to connect the monitors without extra accessories, and can also support keyboards, flash drives and mice. In the case of iPad Air 2, users must shell out $49, for purchasing a Lightning Digital AV adapter. Apple has opted to include the port on different sides as users can access the port when the tablet is in landscape or portrait mode. The iPad Pro is rumored to be powered by triple-core A8X processor that is 55 percent faster than the ones in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Mac Rumors reported that the case featured a tri-fold design which marks an “increase in complexity” over soft plastic cases. This indicates that Apple is confident about consumer’s willingness to invest in expensive designs.
Leaked images of Apple iPad Pro/Plus:
Earlier in March, the French publication revealed on Twitter that the iPad would measure 305.7 x 222.7 x 7.2 millimeters. The new measurements of the cases, measured by German site Arktis, reveal the same measurements though thickness was not measured. Rumors indicate that iPad Pro will carry a screen size of 12.2 to 12.9-inches, and the screen will carry thin bezels. Apple has made a significant increase in screen size, for productivity, media and gaming purposes.
The rumored tablet is expected to arrive in 2016. Analysts speculate that production delays and supply issues were delaying the launch of iPad Pro. The tablet will compete with 12-inch slates in the market like Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 and Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. It remains to be seen if Apple brings in mouse support for iOS, before iPad Pro’s release. Microsoft and Samsung have included the option of adding a mouse and keyboard, for converting them into ultrabooks.
