Apple is reported cutting the production of iPhone 5c smartphones in half from 300K units per day to 150K units per day after learning about the lesser demand for the handset in the market.
A Chinese technology blog has reported that the iPhone 5C is selling at $490-$540 in grey market, whereas the official retail price of the handset is approx. $726 in China. The grey market referred here is the market selling handsets, which were smuggled from US, Hong Kong and Europe.
As the analysts already expected the downfall of the “c” version of latest iPhone, it didn’t turned out to be a budget phone by Apple, but it turned out to be a slight improved version iPhone 5 with high price tag. More, globally, people are interested in buying the iPhone 5s, especially the gold one! and it comes with better hardware and features such as fingerprint sensor, video recording in slow motion, all metal body and unique premium color combinations. Now, it seems the company has enough iPhone 5c smartphones to meet the sales targets and as we already said, Apple is focusing on producing more iPhone 5S handsets, especially Gold iPhone 5S.
Apple released iPhone 5s ad 5C on September 10th, where iPhone 5c panels were made in polycarbonate and the internal specs are almost similar to the previous model – such as Apple A6 processor, 8MP camera, 4-inch Retina Display with similar resolution. And the additional specs are – a better front camera, enhanced 4G/LTE support and a slightly bigger battery. And, this response from the consumers make me think, there won’t be any iPhone 6c is coming to the market.
