An analyst had predicted that consumers can expect a good number of iPad 5s during the fourth quarter outnumbering iPad Minis. In a report from KGI, the iPad Minis would be in low stock due to the shipments of iPad 5 during the fourth quarter. Ina research done by Ming-Chi Kuo, more than 10 million units of iPad 5 would be shipped during the fourth quarter in comparison with the iPad Mini 2 which was about 2 million units.
Kuo’s research note were reported by Blogs like MacRumors and 9to5Mac. The iPad Mini is described by Kou as “so-called Retina iPad Mini”. Kou also pointed that the iPad 5 and the updated iPad Mini would get a camera upgrade.
According to a CNET report last week, the iPad Mini Retina would be available only in limited stocks during the fourth quarter.
“We predict Apple(US) will launch new iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2(so-called Retina iPad mini) in 4Q13. As the tablet market becomes increasingly competitive , Apple could upgrade the camera as the selling point for the new iPad in a bid to increase competitiveness. We expect the upgrade will include 8MP camera , up to 5MP, and a larger aperture. Lens module ASP will rise 10 to 20 percent on this optic spec upgrade”, said Kuo.
