Rock Band 4, created by Harmonix and the fourth iteration in the rhythm action game and will be released this year. The company will release the game independently without help of EA or MTC games for Xbox One and PS4.
The latest game will feature player to player interaction online and offline. About 2000 tracks that include content from the original Rock Band in 2007. The downloaded content of the previous game can be used in the upcoming game. It remains unclear if a new playlist has been added to the game. More details are expected to be revealed at the E3 event in June.
“We couldn’t be more happier at working with Harmonix to help bring back the band together,” said Darren Richardson, president and chief executive at Mad Catz.
Mad Catz, gaming accessory manufacturer will bring in new instruments for the game. Richardson added that Harmonix possessed an unrivaled passion and vision for music-gaming and was looking forward to bring the next generation music platform to more gamers.
Rock Band 4 product manager Daniel Sussman stated that it was important to respect purchases and enable them to bring it to a generation of consoles. Rock Band 3 was released in 2010 though Rock Blitz released in 2012 for Xbox Live and PlayStation Plus where the controller is replaces the plastic Rock Band guitar for matching notes.
Sussman mentioned that the new game will have a player to player “dynamic” and increased awareness among players in the band. The game focuses on opening up peripheral vision where players look what others are doing like in real life. The game is set to be released by the end of the year, while more details will be revealed soon.
