Augmented Reality startup Magic Leap, is developing a product that is totally based upon the eye-brain system and in the meanwhile, its CEO is still comparing their device with Microsoft’s HoloLens.
On Tuesday, Magic Leap CEO Rony Abovtz shared the information regarding the company’s secretive development, technology product on the Reddit AMA thread, i.e., Ask Me Anything thread.
Abovtz shared as,
“We are in product development — we have the capital, a great team in place, and we have a launch date target. At some point in the near future, we will discuss commercial availability publicly,” “There are a class of devices (see-through and non-see-through) called stereoscopic 3D. We at Magic Leap believe these inputs into the eye-brain system are incorrect — and can cause a spectrum of temporary and/or permanent neurologic deficits,”
He shared above contents in AMA thread, when users asked a query to him regarding the Magic Leap. Not only Abovitz said those things, but he also started to compare their product with Microsoft HoloLens. Microsoft HoloLens, which is considered as a Microsoft futuristic holographic headset.
He added that Magic Leap won’t give any sort of health risk while compared to Microsoft HoloLens and according to him, HoloLens may have a chance to affect your brain. And he said that, their product has no sort of side effects, since they respect biology of human eye-brain system.
He also Added,
“I personally experienced a number of these stereoscopic 3D issues — and would not wear these devices — especially knowing that digital light-field systems are on the way and safe,”
AR startup product will use a projector in their product that shines light into your eye and the light that shines in your eye will similar to the light that the user used to receive from the outer real world. In that AMA, Abovitz hasn’t mentioned nay clues regarding the project’s release date, He mentioned that the product will be especially used for viewing movies as well as for playing games.
