As several Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans are yet to get their hands on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that released in 2014, several reports or rumors have emerged about iPhone 7. Check out the new features, specifications, release date and the expected pricing of the rumored smartphone.
Apple iPhone 7 will be powered by an A9 processor with M9 chipset along with an upgraded 2GB LPDDR4 RAM. Reports reveal that Samsung is the supplier of the new A9 chips manufactured with the 14-nanometer processor that makes it more powerful, compact and efficient. The smartphone is expected to have a 4.7 inch display and iPhone 7 Plus might come with a 5.5-inch display. Sidewall displays found in Samsung Galaxy Note Edge could be added as Apple had filed a patent in 2015.
The Sapphire glass display is likely to be included as Apple had not included in the present iPhone due to supply problems. The display will also include durable liquid metal materials which makes the device stronger, durable and lighter by replacing metal and glass. Though iPhone users believe that the resolution might be the same, MacX.cn indicates that the device will have a OLED display with 400ppi.
The camera in the iPhone 7 is rumored to provide a DSLR-like quality with a 21MP dual camera and recording videos in 4K resolution. The camera will have optical zoom features and improved low-light photography. The battery will be upgraded and a new reversible USB charger and a lighting connector on the other end will facilitate wireless charging.
A patent filed by Apple is making the rounds regarding a full Touch ID display that might replace the home button where the feature is currently located. This will give more room for display without enlarging the smartphone. TPK, the supply chain partner of the company is rumored to be working on a “naked eye 3D screen” project for including a 3D display similar to the Amazon Fire Phone display.
Several reports speculate that the iPhone 7 could also be named 6s or iPhone Air. The company might also release 6c or 6s versions of the iPhone before the release of Apple iPhone 7. The smartphone is expected to be released in September 2016 based on the release patterns of earlier iPhones though some reports indicate a new iPhone release in 2015.
The pricing of the iPhone is likely to be in the high range between $600-$700. More details are likely to be revealed in the coming days while designers are creating various concept images of the iPhone 7 for eager fans.
