The mobile world applauded when Samsung released the Galaxy Gear smartwatch along with the Galaxy Note 3 4G smartphone. But the support of the smartwatch was only limited to The Note 3 handsets.

The company had also promised to bring the update to it’s previous high-end models to support the Galaxy Gear are Note 2, S3 and S4. And the Galaxy S4 owners might be luckier than Note 2 and S3, as the supporting firmware update will be coming in October for handsets, after that you can seamlessly use the smartwatch with your smartphone. The older models – Note 2 and Galaxy S3 to get the firmware update to support Gear on December-end.
According to Koreantimes, Samsung vice president Lee Young-hee confirmed the availability of supported firmware and he said:
“All functions of the Gear will be connected to the Galaxy S4 smartphone by next month and the connection will be expanded to Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 by the end of December.”
As of now only 1 device supports the smartwatch, which is Galaxy Note 3 and the company will reveal Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 edition, which might come with android kitkat and will support the smartwatch.
