Both the devices can be upgraded to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop and iOS 8.1.1 respectively.
Build and Battery:
The Note 4 offers a premium build with metal border and less plastic design and the Mini 2 retains the quality aluminum build. The Mini 2 is obviously heavier with 331 grams while the Note 4 weighs 176 grams. The iPad Mini 2 features a massive Li-Po 6470 mAh battery that provides an impressive battery life (Apple claims 10 hours) for the tablet and Note 4 offers 3220 mAh Li-ion removable battery.
The Note 4 supports 3G and 4G networks with LTE support while Apple iPad mini 2 comes in a Wi-Fi with 3G support model and another Wi-Fi only model. The Note 4 includes a faster Bluetooth 4.1 and includes NFC and the mini 2 features Bluetooth 4.0 and lacks NFC.
The Note 4 is priced at $750 off-contract price while Apple iPad mini 2 is priced at $310. Apple iPad mini 2 is still being recommended by users as the latest mini 3 features the same specifications with a Touch ID feature.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 includes an S-pen stylus that has caught the fancy of users and has been reported to become hot while gaming and heavy use. Apple iPad mini 2 aimed at users who prefer a smaller tablet with iOS, remains popular for gaming and apps though the low-end camera is the a backdrop.
