Amazon is offering the Galaxy S5 for $1 with 2-year contract with any wireless carrier. Best Buy, Radio Shack and Walmart are also offering similar deals for $1 and free device with the contract. Consumers looking for an off-contract device can purchase it from Sprint and T-Mobile under monthly installment.

Sprint’s Easy Pay program allows consumers to purchase the Galaxy S5 by paying $18.75 for 24 months and the rugged Galaxy S5 can also be availed at the same price. T-Mobile’s program allow consumers to avail the device by paying $21.20 for 24 months. Consumers opting for prepaid connection, can opt for AT&T’s Cricket Wireless to get the device for only $295 instead of the $589.99 price tag.

Target is offering the Galaxy S5 for one cent with a 2-year contract and the deals from most retailers run through Nov. 29. The deals are available in online and retail stores.

Earlier the Galaxy S5 was offered for $199 with two year contract and the $1 deal is definitely worth buying. The premium smartphone comes with a 5.1-inch full HD display, 16MP rear camera and 2MP secondary camera and did not catch up with consumers mainly due to its plastic build. The device is powered by a 2.5GHz Quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and is backed by a 2800mAh battery.

Consumers looking for a premium handset at an affordable price can opt for the Samsung Galaxy S5 or the rugged version for those interested in water sports, this holiday season.

  1. $1 is misleading and it is not the real cost. You are paying the carrier a higher cost for line with the $1 phone and you are stuck for 2 years.
