Galpin-Fisker’s 2015 Ford Mustang Rocket’s 725-HP V8 engine is awesome

Galpin Auto Sports and Henry Fisker unveiled the 2015 725-HP Rocket based on the Mustang at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2014. A result of a collaborative project, the carbon fiber-bodied car will be priced around $100,000.ford-mustang-rocket--galpin-motorsports-and-henrik-fisker_100491066_h

The Rocket is described as the “Ultimate American Muscle Car” will be available for sale in the coming days, though Galpin’s own stores, select locations in the US and around the world. Fisker designed the car in a unique hexagonal shape with a new hood and air intakes. Angular intakes have been added in the redesigned front bumper. Other design changes from the 2015 Ford Mustang include wider rear wheel arches, remodeled functional spoiler, new rear spoiler and diffuser.

“I think the design additions and the power upgrades we have made to the car help it play in a higher league,” said Fisker.

The car features a front splitter to draw hot air from the lower part of the car while the rear spoiler with the rear diffuser produce downforce. The hood design with huge scoops allows air to cool the 725-horsepower supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine. The inspiration of Fisker’s favorite 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is also seen and the design comes with a custom silver paint known as Eminence Grise. Other features include 21-inch Pirelli P-Zero tires, Brembo brakes with 15-inch discs in the front.

Fisker mentioned that Ford engineers and Ford Design team Morray Callum did an amazing job with the new mustang. The project was a result of Galpin’s long-standing relationship with Fisker, who had previously designed DB9 and Vantage models for a British Automaker.  Galpin is Ford’s famous Auto Sports tuner, leading dealer of the company’s vehicles and also deals in Aston Martin cars. The production of the car is set to commence in December and is will be delivered to consumers starting from early 2015.

  1. Jesus, please drop one of these onto my driveway? Deep Red, please, and a decent sound system.

    Thank you.

  2. The front grill design fails. They could have done much better and still achieved the necessary intake and cooling requirements. Looks like a very poor Dodge/Nissan wannabe. The rest of the car looks fantastic.
