LG G3 receives a major Android firmware update to fix bugs

LG has released a major software update to G3 users that fixes several bugs and issues along with the increased user interface response. The smartphone users have complained of lags in the interface which will now be fixed.

The latest update will be rolled out in many countries as an OTA update on devices running Android Kitkat 4.4.2. The update is 174MB in size and carries the latest software build version V101-IND-XX. However, the changelog has not been released, though users reported improved battery life and enhanced UI.

The flagship smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor, 2.5GHz Krait 400 CPU with 3GB of RAM. The device features a 5.5-inch IPS True HD screen with 534 ppi density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display screen. Other features include a 13MP primary camera, a 2MP secondary camera and 3000mAh battery. The smartphone comes with 16GB internal storage with MicroSD support up to 128GB.

The latest update is seeding in India, Thailand and some European countries. Users can manually check for the update via LG Mobile Support Tool or through the settings menu. Till now, LG has released 2-3 updates for fixing various bugs, removing bloatware in LG firmware. However the lag issue remained a major complaint among the smartphone users.


The company finally released a major update to fix the issue that can downgrade the user experience, G3 owners are advised to back up their phone before applying the update.Indian G3 users provided a screenshot that shows the update with three enhancements namely Valuepack upgrade, apps and Google patch.
