An array of thinner devices, especially tablets was being launched by the Chinese maker, Lenovo in this week. The company is refreshing its Yoga brand segment. Lenovo’s Yoga Tablets and Thinkpads were launched yesterday in London. Lenovo’s Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is a premium device, which has a touch of Ashton Kutcher which is extremely flexible, simple and technically superior to the previous versions.
An upgraded tablet technology, which brings out the media like no other tablet in the world. The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro has an inbuilt projector, a Pico projector that can be used to read books, deliver presentations or you can even watch your favorite movies as the projection is up to 50-inches. First impressions of the launch include a 13.3-inch tablet that can run on both Windows and Android operating systems. Following the segment tradition all the Yoga brand tablets are not exactly cuboids as they have a folding hinge design, which gives it feet to stand and more flexibility to the user.
Basic specs of the 13-inch Android 4.4 tablet are a 4 core Intel Atom processor, which runs up to 1.86GHz. 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory with a slot to upgrade. The battery is also upgraded in the new edition of tablets as they run smoothly up to 15 hours after being fully charged. The tablet has both front and rear camera, which is 1.6MP and 8MP respectively and has a 2560×1440 screen. It costs only $499.
The 10-inch Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 has a 16GB internal storage space, Intel Atom Z3745 processor, 2GB of RAM, whopping 9,600mAh battery, 8MP primary camera, 1.6MP front camera, Dolby Sound, all necessary connectivity ports and features. This tablet is being sold in the United States for the starting price of $299.
“The YOGA Tablet 2 Pro is the culmination of the most extensive research and feedback we’ve ever undertaken, and Ashton has been with us every step of the way, bringing new ideas to the table, challenging us and always advocating for users,” said Jeff Meredith, vice president, Mobile Business Group, Lenovo. “As a result, we’ve preserved the best features of the original YOGA Tablet – the modes and longer battery life – and now we’ve raised the bar completely with technologies like the projector that keep changing the way we think of tablets.”
Another range of Yoga Tablet 2 tablets with same specifications is also launched. The 4 new tablets differ in terms of screen sizes, 8 and 10.1 inches, and operating systems, Android and Windows. Price wise the Android based tablets are cheaper and even available right now, but Windows versions will be available for buying only at the end of October and is also more costly than the former.
