Even the studies suggest that driving and talking to your car at the same time can be risky. According to the recent series of studies by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and the University of Utah, cars which allow the drivers to use various other features via voice activation are more prone to distract the driver. We might think that with voice activation we can easily control the features like music player, receive a call or send a text message, but this more often that not, leads to a complicated situation.

According to AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and the University of Utah, Voice activated systems can be divided into levels from 1 to 5. More that 150 Students from various other universities participated voluntarily in the unified study. The test marked Chevrolet’s MyLink with the worst rating of 3.7. Various different models of Mercedes, Ford, etc. also received ratings of above 3 marking them as risky cars. The best by far of the lot of cars and infotainment systems was, Toyota’s Entune infotainment system with a rating of 1.7.

The experts at AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and the University of Utah believe that if the technology is improved, the voice control will be helpful but in the present condition is far worse that expected!
