It has the same perforated pattern designed back with an unusual faux-leather finish, as well as, placements of the sensors, buttons and the ports are the same too. Both the devices are ready to resist water and dust with their water resistant coating and dust proof capabilities. The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact stands out with its fantastic IP65/68 certification.

The scenario is same for Sony Xperia Z3 Compact too, almost each and everything looks similar to its original version Xperia Z3. But there is a slight difference in the panel up-front and the Compact also has much thinner bezels than the flagship Z3. Similar to Samsung S5 Mini, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is also made up on polycarbonate and in order to add premium look, Sony has added two glasses in front and rear of the device.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact comes with a PPI of 319 only, the Z3 compact has a larger panel, but it turns out to be a little one while comparing the two devices, and which a good thing to consider. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini has a dimension of 131.1 x 64.8 x 9.1mm, while Sony Xperia Z3 has 127.3 x 64.9 x 8.6mm.

Verdict:

The Samsung S5 mini has the same fingerprint scanner as the S5, same heart rate sensor as the S5 and a few add-ons, which is rare to find in a mid-range device. On the other hand Z3 packs high resolution audio playback. PlayStation remote play app for the new PlayStation 4 and few Sony unique apps too.
