Chinese growing smartphone company Xiaomi, which was recently in news for poaching Hugo Barra of Google has unveiled its new flagship mobile phone – MiPhone 3 (3rd generation) today at a press conference in Beijing, China.
The new android 4.2.1 powered smartphone features a 5-inch fullHD IPS display with multitouch capacitive touchscreen, NVIDIA Tegra 4 quad-core processor for China Mobile carrier or 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset for China Unicom carrier, 13-megapixel rear camera with auto focus ad LED flash, 2-megapixel front-faceing camera, 3050mAh battery, 2GB of RAM for multitasking and other basic smartphone features like NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc. Regarding the dimensions – the MiPhone 3 is just 8.1mm thick and weighs only 145 grams.
Xiaomi said in the press conference that the smartphone will be available in 5 color variants – Yellow, blue, silver, white and black. The company also introduced the cover for the mobile phone, which can be used as a stand too.
Xiaomi also revealed the price of MiPhone 3, and it priced the 16GB version for CNY1999 ($327) and 32GB version for and CNY2499 ($408). We can say, the pricing is much better than that of Samsung, Sony & HTC’s flagship phones. Initially, the smartphone will be released to market in October 2013 in China, followed by Hong Kong nd Taiwan.
