Finally Sony has unveiled it’s powerful flagship mobile phone – Xperia Z1 today at the IFA 2013 event.
The Sony Xperia Z1 features a 5 inch full HD Triluminos display (with 1080p resolution), which powered by Sony’s Bravia Engine 2. The main specs of the device is its rear camera, which has the whopping 20.7 megapixel Exmor RS sensor along with the BIONZ image processor engine and a special pulsed LED flash. In front, it has a 2 megapixel camera for video calls.
The new handset is run with the power of Qualcomm’s 2.2GHz MSM8974 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM used for multitasking and faster working speed. 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card with 64GB expandable capacity gives the device plenty of storage space for ll your audio, video and other stuffs. Android Jelly Bean (Ver. 4.2) is pre-installed and this device will support the Android KitKat very soon after the release of new OS. 3000mAk battery might give enough standby and talktime to the handset, but the processing power plus the chipsets used in the handset might eat up some of the battery life.
According to the company, Z1 smartphone is waterproof (IPX5 and IPX8 certified) and dust-proof (IP5X certified) gadget. It comes with the other basic features of latest smartphones such as Wi-Fi, NFC, 3G, Bluetooth & Sony’s own Xperia Link. black, white & purple is the colors available for the device. Sony Xperia Z1 might enter the market by the end of September 2013. Exact date has not been revealed by the company yet.
The handset also features some of the newest applications such as Social Live (to broadcast images to social networks) and Info-eye (an application with visual search functionality for landmarks, books, wines and other items by clicking a photo of them). Timeshift burst mode can take 61 photos in 2 seconds (a second before & after pressing the shutter). It seems that Sony is successful in it’s Z series of handsets, may be, that is why it is bringing the handsets under Z series with large displays and full waterproof body.
