Microsoft announces Wireless Display Adapter, priced at $60

Before a decade, graphics cards are used to transfer or play the video on the television screen right from your personal computer. With the help of these graphics cards, the idea of playing a DVD on your personal computer and transferring it to a television was an amazing thing. Today Microsoft has announced its Wireless Display Adapter that transfer the screen of Windows 8.1 PC to the television accurately.microsoft-wireless-display

Today everything has been changed, we have advanced in technology that gives HDMI-out directly in the personal computer and it is a common thing right now. Recent advancement in the technology allows us to transmit video wirelessly to a TV from your desktop. Google has launched Google Chromecast for just $35, that allows its users to transmit video wirelessly.

The main drawback of Chromcast is that, Chromecast works excellent with apps that are supported by it,  and many doesn’t do. And now comes Microsoft’s hardware division brings its Wireless Display Adapter for $60 – – $25 more than Google’s Chromecast though.

Beandon LeBlanc, Senior Marketing Communications Manager says,

“Today we’re announcing the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, which connects to an HDTV, monitor, or projector and will let you easily share content from any Miracast-enabled device — including many PCs and Tablets running Windows 8.1. With the Wireless Display Adaptor, I don’t have to worry about getting everyone to huddle around a device. All the content I care about, along with audio, is easily shared on the big screen”

And also explains,

all you need to do is plug the USB end and HDMI end of the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter into an HDTV, monitor or projector. Then select the right input on your TV, pair it with your laptop, tablet, or smartphone and you’ll be ready to go. Then just wirelessly project your screen from your Miracast-enabled device. It’s that simple. Depending on your device, you can have it mirror exactly what’s being shown on the screen of your device or extend its screen. Because the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter uses Miracast technology, you’re not limited to certain apps or content streaming. It’ll show anything and everything from your device”.

Unfortunately, Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor is a little bit more expensive than the Google Chromecast. Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor is mainly designed for the enterprise and it is more useful for its price. Microsoft usually provides gadgets that are mainly based on “you get, what you pay for”.
