Sony is set to have a busy schedule at the IFA event in Berlin next month as the company will be launching three new smartphones, a thin waterproof tablet and a range of Android Wear smartwatches.
The Xperia Z3 smartphone will be the highlight of the Sep 4 event that features a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor along with 3GB of RAM. The features of the phone are similar to its predecessor Z2 and includes a 5.2-inch triluminous display offers crisp display and improved contrast ratio. The Z3 promises to offer two days of battery backup as new software caching enhancements have been added. The smartphone is IP68 certified and will be launched as a T-Mobile Exclusive.
The Xperia Z3 Compact will feature the same specifications of Z3 but with a lesser 4.7-inch display with 720×1280 display and carries the IP68 certification and battery saving features of the Z3. Sony will also launch a the Z3 Tablet Compact, the thinnest water-proof tablet with a thickness of 6.4mm. The tablet features a 8-inch 1080×1920 display and will carry the same features and specifications of the Z3 smartphone.
Sony will also reveal Xperia E3 that is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1.5GB RAM. The smartphone lacks water-proof features and will be priced between $200 and $300. Apart from the list of new products, the company plans to launch 2 new Android Wear wearables, the Smartwatch 3 and Smartband Talk. The Smartwatch 3 will feature a 1.68-inch 320×320 display and is IP68 dust and water-resistant. The Smartband Talk is a fitness tracking device with Bluetooth and an e-ink display.
