Nokia has announced a semi smartphone at an event in Moscow. This phone is launched for the group of customer who wants a simple but powerful mobile/basic phone for day to day work. This phone lies somewhere between a basic and smartphone (from features point of view). Same is the case with price sticker. Dubbed as Nokia 515, it boasts very usual features that are there with most of the basic as well as smart phones.
It comes with 2.4 inch QVGA screen that is protected with Gorilla Glass 2. Gorilla Glass protection is an additional thing which is not there in any other basic phone from Nokia. Nokia is planning to launch it in two variants (single SIM and Dual SIM variants). It supports micro-SIM only.
No details about processor and operating system are available but most likely it will inherit normal Symbian OS with processor in MHz. It is wrapped with an alphanumeric keypad and 5 MP main rear camera. Camera is further paired with LED flash that provides better experience in low light conditions. 256 MB RAM is there for entertaining users with very basic level of multi-tasking. You can expand its external memory through normal SD card. Its camera features various photo editing tools and modes (panorama, self-portrait etc). These additional things take the entire experience to next level.
It houses a strong battery (capacity not disclosed yet) that provides 5.3 hours talk time with 3G and 10.4 hours talk time with 2G networks. It provides approximate of 38 days standby time with both the networks.
Nokia is going to launch N 515 in September 2013. It will retail somewhere around $149 in global market aiming to the mass users. BTW, we can see the mass is moving towards the Smartphones now! Do you have a smartphone or feature phone?
