According to the rumors, Apple was setting itself up for an update to the series of Retina MacBook Pro. Well, it seems that the rumors were true as Apple has launched a new series of Retina MacBook Pro with faster processors and a better RAM. The rumors were up on a high over the last weekend as Apple today announced the new series, which will be available in screen sizes of 13 inch and 15 inch.
Speaking of the standard versions of the Retina MacBook Pro which will be available, they will be coming with a faster version of Intel’s Haswell Processors. To add to the increased speed of the processors, the Retina MacBook Pro will be having an 8 GB RAM for 13 inch models and a 16 GB RAM for all 15 inch models. The high-end 13 inch models of the new line of Retina MacBook Pro will be available at $1799 and the 15 inch models will be available at a price of $2499. The initial price mark for the high-end 15 inch models was a $100 more that the new price.
Apple will also be providing build-to-order option for the new models. Customers can add up to 3.0 GHz dual core i7 processors for 13 inch models and 2.8 GHz quad-core i7 processors for 15 inch models. In addition, one can also add extra 1 TB of Flash storage for both the models.
The new line of Retina MacBook Pro will be available at all the Apple stores as well as online stores from today itself. Apple has also added a free $100 voucher which can be used to buy educational features. According to the market experts, the price cut on 15 inch models and now this $100 voucher as a part of the Apple’s Back to School Program is probably a marketing technique. According to them, this might act as a boost for the newly launched products.

- 2.6 GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB flash storage, priced at $1299.

- 2.8 GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB flash storage, priced at $1799.
- 2.2 GHz quad-core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB flash storage, priced at $1999.
- 2.5 GHz quad-core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB flash storage, priced at $2499.
According to another update, the new line of Retina MacBook Pro models will be having an option for a free upgrade to OS X Yosemite during the later part of the year. On the other hand Apple has also cut the prices for the non-retina MacBook Pro models. According to the reports, there has been a reduction of $100, with the present marked price as $1099. But Apple has not added the faster processor to the non-retina MacBook models.
